I have been interested in Geodesic domes for some time now.
It has been my dream to create a Christmas decoration using this geometric formula discovered and patented by Buckminster Fuller back in the '60s I believe.
2008 saw this come to fruition. This is a frequency 3 "Bucky Ball". It has a styrene ball suspended in the middle with 12 LED's aimed at it.
A frequency 3 geosphere is made up of 270 struts. This sphere was made from drinking straws and measures just over 3'6" across the diameter.
